Middle East and Africa T&D project contracts activity down 10% in Q4 2020
There were 27 T&D project contracts announced in the Middle East and Africa region in Q4 2020, marking a drop of 10% over the last four-quarter average of 30, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.
Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in Q4 2020 with 29 contracts and a 29.9% share, followed by T&D Project with 27 contracts and a 27.8% share and Generation Equipment with 11 contracts and an 11.3% share during the quarter.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 23 contracts and an 85.2% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: two contracts and a 7.4% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: two contracts and a 7.4% share.
Solar is top technology for Middle East and Africa T&D project contracts in Q4 2020
Looking at T&D project contracts by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, solar accounted for three contracts with a 50% share, followed by thermal with three contracts and a 50% share.
