MNRE: Suggestions sought from all Solar Manufacturers/Investors/Consultants/Experts for Solar Polysilicon, Ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in India
Government of India has launched Make in India Programme on 29 -12-2014 to facilitate investment, foster innovation, protect intellectual property, and build best-in-class manufacturing infrastructure. As per the Mission Document of National Solar Mission, manufacturing capacity to the tune of 4-5 GW is to be achieved by the year 2020. This would include dedicated manufacturing capacity for Polysilicon, Ingot and wafer manufacturing facility to annually make about 2 GW capacities of solar cells. As of now the installed capacity of cells and modules in the country is 1386 MW & 2756 MW respectively and there is no Polysilicon, Ingot and wafer manufacturing facility.
Government is considering to support Polysilicon, Ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in India. Various modalities to create the support framework are under consideration. The interested Solar Manufacturers/Investors/Consultants/Experts in the field may contact the undersigned at 011-24360764 and email:sk.gupta81@gov.in.
