Morocco on Monday kicked off a name for tenders to pick engineering, procurement and building (EPC) firms for the Noor Atlas photo voltaic programme with a capability of about 260 MW.

The Moroccan Company for Sustainable Vitality (MASEN) is looking for contractors for the development, operation and upkeep of the photo voltaic vegetation to be positioned within the south and east of the nation, it stated in a press launch.

The tenders are organised in two separate heaps.

The primary lot consists of 5 websites — two vegetation every of 42 MW in Ain Beni Mathar and Enjil and two stations of 36 MW every in Boudnib and Outat el Haj. The fifth web site in Bouanane will host a plant with a capability of 30 MW.

The websites within the second lot are for 2 photo voltaic vegetation every of 36 MW in Tan-Tan and Tata.

The bids submitted through the tender can be opened on October 30, 2022.

Morocco presently has about 50 renewable vitality initiatives in operation with a complete capability of 4.1 GW. These embrace 2.5 GW of photo voltaic, 1.32 GW of wind and 360 MW of hydropower.

The North African nation goals to attain a 52% share of renewable vitality in its electrical energy combine by 2030.
