MPCCIA for subsidy to buy solar energy for cold storage units
Two days ahead of scheduled start of India Cold Chain Expo (ICE-2016) here, a Madhya Pradesh industry body today demanded the Centre to grant 35 per cent subsidy to buy solar energy system for running cold storage centres.
“We want to run our cold storages by solar (green) energy. We demand that the government should provide us 35 per cent subsidy for purchase of solar power system to run our establishments,” MP Cold Chain Industry Association (MPCCIA) president Hasmukh Jain Gandhi told reporters here.
“If the government gives us subsidy on purchase of solar energy system, our dependency on conventional power will lessen. Besides, the move will facilitate us to open our business establishments in the area where there was inadequate electricity supply,” he added.
The agriculture experts from Chile and Australia, besides directors of 400 cold storage centres will participate in the two-day expo.
