MPUVN GIFTS E-VEHICLES TO CM, CHIEF SECRETARY
On the occasion of World Environment Day, Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam has gifted e-vehicles to the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary in the State to encourage the official use of electric vehicles in the State.
Electric Vehicle was demonstrated at the State Mantralaya where Minister for New and Renewable Energy Narayan Singh Kushwaha and Chairman Urja Vikas Nigam Vijendra Singh Sisodiya formally handed over the key of the vehicle to the Chief Minister.
Charging infrastructure of E-Vehicle has been established in the campus of Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam which is based on Solar Energy. Vehicle would cover up to 130 km to 140 kms in one charge. Entire amount for purchasing E-Vehicles and its charging infrastructure is being received from Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Government of India under their exhibition scheme.
The net expenditure for the operation of E-Vehicle is approximately INR 0.89/Km, on the other hand, the fuel expenditure on diesel and petrol operated vehicles is INR 4.2/Km and INR 5.00/Km respectively. This is to say that other than decrease in pollution, the operational cost of E-Vehicles is pretty economical as compared to conventional fossil fuel based vehicles.
The additional expenditure on E-Vehicles is replenished in almost three years on the average daily use of 120 to 130 kms. E-Vehicle has 10 times lesser moving parts as compared to Diesel ad Petrol operated vehicles which leads to lesser maintenance requirement.
Notably, Indian government has initiated National Electric Mobility Mission (e-mobility) to encourage the use of electric vehicles (E-Vehicle). Madhya Pradesh has implemented this programme as Solar Based Electric Mobility Program by showing its commitment towards the environment.
This programme was started from World Environment Day in the State.
