NDMC’s solar fair to inform residents about using rooftops
Residents in the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) area will be able to get all information about using their rooftops for power generation with the civic body organising a solar mela from tomorrow.
The two-day event will begin tomorrow at Palika Services Officers Institute tomorrow.
“Information like potential of rooftops, savings in electricity bills, solar panels installation, cost involved and methodology to avoid any botheration for owners or neighbours, will be available to the visitors at the fair,” a senior NDMC official said.
“Though NDMC area has 7.3 MW of solar rooftop projects but there is still lot of untapped potential particularly on the roofs of embassies, schools, colleges and hospitals,” the official added.
Before kick starting the fair, the council will sign an MoU with the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) for cooperation in the area of solar rooftop projects and energy efficiency initiatives.
