Shimla: Environmentalists on Wednesday emphasised on the need of climate change adaptation and technology transfer and adoption for water conservation and maximizing the adoption of renewable energy.
The observation was made during a popular series of lectures ‘WE 4 CLIMATE’ on climate change and sustainable development organised here on Wednesday under the Indo-German bilateral project ‘Climate Change Adaptation in Rural Areas of India (CCA RAI)’.
It is being implemented in the State by Department of Environment, Science & Technology. Speaking on the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Tarun Kapoor said that objective of the series is to serve as a platform to promote dialogue and knowledge exchange and experience sharing among wider community of stakeholders including researchers, practitioners, policymakers and the public including students about climate change challenges and adaptation and mitigation practiced and needed in rural regions of the State.
It will fulfill larger objective of strengthening science-policy-practice connect.
