Newbie JV targets 4GW Spanish solar – EQ Mag Pro
Swiss investor Smartenergy and Spain’s Grupo Prodiel have launched a joint venture with a solar development pipeline in excess of 4GW in Spain.
Greenfield PV has started out with a team of more than 50 experienced development specialists working on the portfolio of projects.
Additionally, Smartenergy acquired a project pipeline exceeding 1GW of solar PV projects from Prodiel, with Greenfield PV providing development services to both portfolios. Grupo Prodiel vice president Miguel Some said: “Greenfield PV is born as a company committed to sustainable development and environmental conservation.
“We focus on a model of responsible and orderly development of solar PV assets.”
Smartenergy chief operating officer Joao Cunha added: “Greenfield PV is a prime example of the work that Smartenergy is doing by identifying opportunities all over Europe and in this case in Spain, creating synergies throughout the entire value chain.
“With this giant step Smartenergy is now well positioned for further growth in Spain.”
