NOC discusses improved productivity, maintaining oil reservoirs and solar power with Repsol
Libya’s state National Oil Corporation (NOC) chairman, Mustafa Sanalla, discussed last Wednesday (19 August) with the General Manager of Repsol Libya Branch various ways of cooperation between the two.
The NOC reported that the two sides discussed the implementation of the reservoir studies proposed by Repsol and work on their implementation to reach proposals that help improve productivity and maintain oil reservoirs.
They also discussed, according to the NOC, what both parties considered as strategic projects, the most important of which is the project of studying renewable energies. The NOC reported that the Repsol General Manager gave a brief explanation of the implementation of studies on the solar energy project in the Sharara oilfield and listened to the NOC’s feedback on it.
Sustainable development programmes, as well as the politically forced closures of the Sharara fields and their negative effects on meeting Repsol’s commitments to implement the proposed work programmes, as well as the implementation of spatial development programmes, were also addressed.
