NTPC signs MoU with Andaman and Nicobar to set up 50 MW Solar Power Projects with Battery Energy Storage System at Port Blair
NTPC shall set up Solar Power projects of 50 MW capacity with Battery Energy Storage System at different locations in Port Blair in Andaman & Nicobar Islands as part of its Green Commitment to Government of India. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between NTPC , Andaman & Nicobar Administration & MNRE in New Delhi on 20.10.16.
The MoU was signed by Shri Subhash Muley, ED(Nuclear and RE), NTPC, Shri Sanjeev Khirwar, IAS, Commissioner cum Secretary(Power), A&N & Shri V.K.Jain, Adviser MNRE in the presence of Shri Upendra Tripathy, IAS, Secretary, MNRE, Shri Gurdeep Singh, CMD NTPC , Shri A.K.Jha, Director(Technical) and senior officials from MNRE and NTPC. The power generated from these solar plants shall contribute towards increased Renewable Energy Deployment and Greening of A&N islands.
