National Thermal Power Corporation Limited received the PSU Developer of the Year 2020-21 at EQ E-Award Show May 2021. EQ organized the India Solar Award 2020-21 on May 26 through virtual mode for the solar industry of India.

NTPC is the largest power generation utility in India with an installed capacity of 65,810 MW. The corporation has forayed into generating electricity through hydro, nuclear and renewable energy sources which will help to reduce lower its carbon footprint.
The corporation owns multiple power stations including 24 coal-based plants, seven gas-based, 13 solar plants and more. Under joint ventures, NTPC has nine coal-based, four gas-based and 13 renewable energy projects. By the year 2032, the corporation plans to become a 130 GW company, and the non-fossil fuel based generation capacity will contribute nearly 30 per cent of NTPC’s portfolio.
NTPC is ranked at the second position as Independent Power Producer in Platts top 250 Global Energy Company Rankings. The corporation is also recognized as the best among PSUs in Manufacturing.
