Obituary for Mr. Ravi Khanna – CEO & M. D. At Aditya Birla Renewables Ltd., Mumbai India
Ravi Khanna serves as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for ABREL, the renewables entity for Aditya Birla Group. Aditya Birla Group is a US $48.3 billion corporation and is in the League of Fortune 500. Anchored by an extraordinary force of over 120,000 employees belonging to 42 nationalities, the Group is built on a strong foundation of stakeholder value creation.
Prior to joining the Aditya Birla Group, Ravi worked as the CEO and President of Scatec Solar AS, Oslo, Norway and served as Director of Scatec AS, a leading Norwegian technology corporation. Ravi has also served as Chief Executive Officer of Moser Baer Photovoltaic Ltd., and PV Technologies India Limited, where he created one of the fastest growing manufacturing capacities in Asia.
Before entering the solar sector, Ravi worked with Delphi Corporation US in various management positions globally, including Country Manager ASEAN and MD for India and Thailand. In this role, Ravi covered six manufacturing sites and a Technical Centre. Under his leadership Delphi Steering India won the coveted Toyota best supplier award for manufacturing excellence.
Ravi has served as a member of the Indian PM’s solar technology mission and also engaged very closely with Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), IREDA (Indian Renewable Development Agency) and NORAD (Development agency of Norway) on development of the future renewable and sustainable energy platforms in India.
He was on the advisory board of Private Equity firm NEA in Palo Alto CA and also has served on the board of American firms HelioVolt Corporation, Sol Focus, Solaria and Stion Corporation.
Ravi has also been recognized as Aditya Birla Group “Outstanding Leader 2016” and was also awarded “Delphi Chairman’s Global Performance Recognition Award” for consecutive years (‘02 & ‘03).
