Ohio to install more than 500 electric vehicle charging stations: Here’s where they’ll go
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has awarded more than $3.2 million in grants to support the installation of more than 500 electric vehicle charging stations across the state, including at least 40 sites in the Miami Valley.
Funded from Ohio’s allocations in the Volkswagen Mitigation Trust Fund, the grants will provide full or partial funding for publicly accessible Level 2 EV charging ports at more than 170 locations. Public and private entities in 26 counties were eligible to apply.
In the Miami Valley, grant dollars will support more than $720,000 in EV charging infrastructure in Montgomery, Greene, Butler and Warren counties. Here’s which sites will benefit:

A separate round of grant funding for fast-charging stations is planned for later in 2021.
The Ohio EPA also plans to fund an electric school bus pilot project.
