On This EV Day, BluSmart Marks Saving 5500+ Tonne of CO2 – EQ Mag Pro
New Delhi : On the Occasion of World EV day, BluSmart – India’s largest fully electric full-stack ride-hailing service and operator of EV charging stations, today marks saving of 5500 plus tonnes of CO2 which is equal to the impact of 2.5 lakh trees absorbing CO2 in a year, as verified by Verra. On BluSmart, each day 25 tonnes of CO2 is saved which is equivalent to planting 1000 mature trees every day.
In India, the transport sector is the third most CO2 emitting sector, and within the transport sector, road transport (carrying goods and passenger transport) contributes more than 90% of total CO2 and NOx emissions. The transportation sector is also a major consumer of petrol and diesel with a share of 99% & 70% respectively. Delhi is in pollution’s ever-tightening chokehold, the transport sector contributes to a third of all PM 2.5 emissions, causing catastrophic health harms.
Commenting on the same, Anmol Singh Jaggi, CEO and Co-founder of BluSmart said, “It is not new to anyone around the world how climate change is wreaking havoc on this earth.
