Partners secure EPC contract for 159 MWp solar project in the Philippines – EQ Mag Pro

Aboitiz Power Corporation has awarded Hansei Corporation and China-based SUMEC Complete Equipment and Engineering Company an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for its 159 MWp Laoag and Laoag 2 solar power project in Pangasinan, Philippines.
The solar project will be developed in two phases, out of which SUMEC Engineering will oversee the direct current phase, while alternating current installation will be undertaken by Hansei.
Commercial operation of the facility is scheduled to commence in 2023 and will have the capacity to generate about 261 GWh of solar energy. Majority of the plant’s output will be delivered to a retail company under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
