RIO DE JANEIRO: Norway’s Equinor ASA and Brazil’s Petrobras agreed to jointly seek out offshore wind projects together for the next three years, executives from the two companies said on Wednesday.
Equinor’s Executive Vice President Anders Opedal and Petrobras’s Chief Strategy Officer Nelson Silva did not offer details on the amount to be invested.
The project comes after Petrobras released plans for Brazil’s first offshore wind project, a pilot plant offshore from Rio Grande do Norte state that should begin operations in 2022 and produce about 6 to 10 megawatts.
