Job description:
Project Manager
As Project Manager (PM), you will be reporting directly to the Head of Projects and working closely with the clients and all the internal teams as required right from the signing of the PPA till the handover of the plant to the O&M team. PM will be responsible for the timely execution of the project to the highest quality and safety by the EPC contractors and within the allocated budget.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage all onsite activities of the EPC contractor
Prepare a detailed project plan in consultation with the EPC contractor
Develop and ensure QAP for the onsite work
Closely monitor the progress and dynamically make necessary workflow changes onsite in consultation with EPC to improve productivity
Anticipate issues that may impact schedule, timelines and any variation to the scope thereby increasing the project cost and plan for contingencies for both time and cost for smooth work execution on site
Interface with client on a regular basis and set correct expectations and meet the expectation.
Communicate progress to higher management and clients through regular reports received from site
Manage the project on a daily, weekly and monthly basis including (but not limited to):
Monitoring, follow-up and collecting all project receivables
Supervising and ensuring the project is within the budget.
Monitoring and maintaining the project schedule including scheduling manpower and deliveries with the EPC
Ensuring all quality related checklists are followed for every activity.
Ensuring health and safety practices are strictly followed at site
Ensuring that all incidents are reported and investigated
Ensuring that the relevant levels of safety monitoring/audits are carried across the business in accordance with appropriate health and safety assurance processes
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements:-
BE / B Tech from a reputed university
Minimum 8 years’ experience in project management with a proven track record in managing projects and at least 4 years in handling projects in Solar industry
Experience of leading and managing teams
Experience of being a key decision maker
Strong leadership skills
Strong negotiation and influencing skills
Strong communication skills
Ready to travel throughout India
Languages known: English & Hindi. Ability to speak in South Indian languages will be an added advantage
Ready to relocate to Chennai / Hyderabad mandatory.
