The Rajasthan government on Tuesday approved the Rajasthan Electric Vehicle Policy (REVP) to encourage EVs in the state.
EV Policy : The Rajasthan government on Tuesday approved the Rajasthan Electric Vehicle Policy (REVP) to encourage EVs in the state, as per PTI reported.
According to PTI, the government has approved an additional budget provision of Rs 40 crore for the reimbursement of state goods and services tax (SGST) on such vehicle purchases.
An official release said Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved this policy, and its execution will minimise pollution generated by diesel and gasoline vehicles in the state.
In the 2019-20 budget, Gehlot announced the establishment of an Electric Vehicle Policy. He stated that the state government is dedicated to encouraging the use of all sorts of electric vehicles, PTI said.
According to the battery capacity of the vehicle, the state government will repay Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 in SGST for two-wheelers and Rs 10,000 to 20,000 for three-wheelers.
E-vehicles have been exempt from the state’s Motor Vehicle Tax, said PTI.
