ReGen Bags1600 Cr Orders for Wind Power Projects From Hero Group and Green Infra
ReGen Powertech Private Limited, one of the leading players in the Indian wind industry has recently received orders worth Rs.1,600 crores. The contract signed with Hero Future Energies in the last week is for a 150 MW project to be executed in Andhra Pradesh. ReGen with its very successful 1.5 MW V87 turbine had supplied the first wind energy project to Hero Future Energies when they entered this space three years ago. The repeat order from Hero is a testimony of the class leading performance of ReGen’s 1.5 MW Wind Turbines.
Another contract signed recently with Sembcorp Green Infra Limited for a 60 MW project to be executed in the state of Madhya Pradesh is the 6th repeat order for ReGen from Sembcorp Green Infra.ReGen is also in discussion with other leading Indian corporates investing in Wind Energy projects and is in the process of closing orders worth over 1000 crores shortly. This is in addition to orders received recently from Ghari Detergent, Ruchi Soya, Sancheti Properties , Royal Classic and others totalling to over 200 Cr. With Projects under execution in various states, ReGen is set to commission 400 MW wind power projects in the current financial year.
Right from inception ReGen has been focussing on the Independent Power Producers (IPP) market for Wind Energy in India and has gained a leadership position in this segment. The company has already installed more than 1800 MW in India and 45 MW in Sri Lanka being the largest player in that market. ReGen has been able to maintain its leadership position in the IPP segment, thanks to its best in class Technology of Wind Turbines based on Gearless Permanent Magnet Generator. The wind turbines manufactured by ReGen with Technology from Vensys Energy AG, Germany has proven to be one of the best turbines suited for low wind regime prevalent in India. The low speed gearless turbine is one of the most reliable wind turbine in the market with lowest possible down time and clocking availability close to 99% which is one of the highest in the Industry even globally.
ReGen which started its commercial operation in the year 2008 has been a pioneer in introducing class leading technology in the market and has introduced 3 models of Wind Turbines within a short span of three years from its inception, the latest being the V 87 with the largest rotor diameter in its class. The 2.8 MW Wind Turbine developed by in house R & D team of ReGen is under testing at its own testing site in Vagarai near Coimbatore. Two other models of turbine are also in the pipeline for introduction in the Indian market in the coming year. ReGen with its two State of the art Manufacturing facilities one at Tada, Andhra Pradesh and another at Udaipur, Rajasthan has a combined capacity to manufacture more than 1000 MW annually.
