ReNew Energy Global plc (“ReNew” or “the Company”) (Nasdaq: RNW, RNWWW), India’s leading decarbonisation solutions company, has partnered with the Jaipur Literature Festival to power the event with renewable energy. The two organisations have agreedto partner for the 2024 Festival and will also explore collaboration opportunities for subsequent editions over the coming decade, marking a significant leap towards hosting environmentally responsible and sustainable cultural events.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Series Jaipur Literature Festival, now in its 17th year, has become a literary phenomenon, welcoming over a million book lovers from across India and the globe. This year’s edition will take place from 1st to 5th February in Jaipur at Hotel Clarks Amer. The programme features renowned speakers including: former Governor of West Bengal, Gopalkrishna Gandhi; Mary Beard, one of the world’s best-known Classicists; and Bonnie Garmus, author of New York Times bestselling novel ‘Lessons in Chemistry’.

Through the partnership, ReNew will ensure that the 2024 event is fully powered by renewable energy marking a significant stride in its quest to move beyond greening institutions and work with marquee events like JLF to create a direct social impact on youth and civil society members. This deeply ties in to the company’s mission of creating a carbon-free world and further the dialogue on being energy-conscious. ReNew is already responsible for 1.9% of India’s total installed power capacity, producing enough clean energy to power 5 million households annually.

ReNew will also be offering its expertise to the Festival organisers to identify opportunities to make the event more sustainable and establish an actionable greening framework for subsequent editions of the event. This framework will be aligned with the sustainability goals of Mission LiFE, the India-led movement that encourages individual and community action globally to protect and preserve the environment. It will focus on helping the Festival to reduce its dependence on plastics, source sustainably and reduce its carbon footprint.

This strategic partnership not only highlights ReNew’s dedication to a cleaner, greener future but also serves as a blueprint for fostering responsible and impactful collaboration for a sustainable tomorrow. The aim is to make the Festival progressively greener over the next few years, ultimately achieving carbon and plastic neutrality, by leveraging ReNew’s deep understanding of the clean energy sector.

Vaishali Nigam Sinha, Co-Founder and Chairperson Sustainability ReNew, said, “As we join hands with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Series Jaipur Literature Festival, ReNew is proud to lead the way in creating a sustainable cultural landscape. By kickstarting on the journey to achieve zero emissions, the 2024 edition of the iconic Festival sets a groundbreaking standard for cultural events. Our collaboration is not just about execution, it’s about a shared commitment to aligning with sustainability goals and Mission LIFE. Together, we will actively work towards reducing dependence on plastics, adopting sustainable sourcing practices, and implementing measures for a significant reduction in the carbon footprint.”

Sanjoy K Roy, Managing Director, Teamwork Arts, said, “The alliance with ReNew signifies a strategic leap towards sustainability for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Series Jaipur Literature Festival. Initiating the quest for zero emissions, the Festival in an association with the UN India office aims to pioneer a trailblazing initiative within the literary festival domain. This collaboration is more than execution; it reflects a shared dedication to harmonizing with sustainability objectives.”
