Required Senior Metallurgist – R & D in NEXTracker

Role & Responsibilities:

• Recommending material options for new product application
• Recommending manufacturing methods for metal parts
• Working with suppliers to develop processes for new product
• Investigating testing failure where it is suspected that the cause may be related to metallurgical failure
• Interpreting metallurgy testing report
• Controlling the metallurgical properties in shaping of metals parts through casting, rolling, forging and drawing
• Assist in monitoring quality standards in manufacturing and finishing for metal parts
• Assessing the physical structure and behavior of metals
• Writing documents, manuals, metallurgical investigations, and reports in support of design engineers
• Discussing different solutions to problems with other technical staff

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Candidate should have at least 6 years of experience. Position requires a Masters degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science
• Expertise in physical and chemical testing, corrosion, failure analysis, materials selection, welding qualification and Metallography
• Ability to use the following testing equipment: Tensile Compression Tester, Wilson Hardness Tester, Profile Projector, Stereoscope, MG Microscope, Brake Fluid Boiling Point Tester, Dual scope, Hydrometer, Refractometer, etc.
• A strong understanding of QA principals (NABL and ISO/IEC 17025)
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and E-mail is absolutely required.
