In Short : Resonia Ltd. has secured the Ananthapur-II transmission project to evacuate 4.5 GW of renewable energy in Andhra Pradesh. The project includes a 765/400 kV pooling station and two 765 kV transmission lines. This marks Resonia’s entry into Andhra Pradesh, aligning with India’s goal of achieving 500 GW of renewable capacity by 2030 while enhancing grid stability.

In Detail : Resonia Limited, formerly Sterlite Grid 32 Limited, has been awarded the Ananthapur-II renewable energy zone (REZ) Phase-I transmission project. Developed through the tariff based competitive bidding (TBCB) process, the project is situated in Andhra Pradesh. Furthermore, the project, developed under a special purpose vehicle, will be executed on a build-own-operate-transfer basis for 35 years.

The project marks Resonia’s eleventh power transmission project under the TBCB framework, bringing its total managed projects to approximately Rs 325.27 billion. The project aims to facilitate the evacuation of 4.5 GW of renewable energy from the Ananthapur region.

It includes the construction of a Greenfield pooling station at Ananthapuram-II (765/400 kV and 400/220 kV) and the installation of 765 kV double-circuit transmission lines connecting Ananthapuram-II to Davangere (150 km) and Cuddapah (200 km).

Additionally, the project scope also features a ±300 MVAR STATCOM at the Ananthapuram-II pooling station to enhance grid stability and reliability. The transmission infrastructure will play a crucial role in integrating renewable energy into the national grid and strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s power network.
