Sosnovy Bor (Russia) :  Russia’s Rosatom Group has said it is looking at various opportunities in India’s “highly-potential” market, including in the renewable and carbon fiber sectors.

Rosatom-International Network President Vadim Titov told PTI that his group is also exploring possibilities in the fields of nuclear medicine, radiation technology and energy storage.

Nuclear technology giant Rosatom is developing a nuclear power plant at Kudankulam in Tamil Nadu. The plant will have six nuclear reactors with an installed capacity of 1,000 MW each. Two of these reactors have already started.

“Rosatom is looking not only at nuclear energy, but also other potential areas of cooperation,” Titov said. We would be happy to explore collaborations with our Indian partners in other areas such as carbon fiber and wind energy.

Titov-led Rosatom International supports the group’s international activities and explores new business opportunities.

“Definitely the Indian market is very promising. It is a great honor for us to have the opportunity to work with Indian colleagues in the energy sector.

He said that his company can also provide technology related to the energy sector to its foreign partners. However, he did not give further details about this.
