RUMSL Agar 550 MW Solar Tender eBid Won by O2 Power and Avaada
Avaaada Energy Private Limited and O2 Power Private Limited won the RUMSL Agar 550 MW Solar Tender eBid. The tender issued by RUMSL 550 MW received an enthusiastic response from the bidders.
Avaada Energy won Unit 1 of Agar Solar Park for 200 MW, and Unit 2 of 350 MW was bagged by Beempow Energy Private Limited, a subsidiary of O2 power. Beempow Energy is 100% owned and controlled by O2 Power.
The Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) tendered a total of 1500 MW of grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Madhya Pradesh. These projects will be developed across three solar parks in the state including Agar Solar park of 550 MW Solar PV capacity, 500 MW Neemuch Solar Park and 450 MW Shajapur Solar Park.
The tender was issued in January 2020 for the aggregate capacity of 1.5 MW. RUMSL invited bids to develop the transmission system in January this year. RUMSL had shortlisted a total of 18 bidders for this tender. The final bidder list for Agar Solar Park tender included 15 bidders.
The list of bidders included Avaada Energy, NHDC Ltd, Azure Power, ACME Solar, ReNew Solar, Green Infra, Sprng Green Power, Green Infra Wind Energy, Torrent Power, SJVN Limited, Ayana Renewable Power, Litsolaire Energy, TP Saurya, NTPC Renewable Energy and Beempow Energy.
RUMSL, a joint venture company of Madhya Pradesh UrjaVikas Nigam Limited (MPUVN) and Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), will own and develop all three solar parks.
These projects are expected to complete by July 2022. The entire 1500 MW capacity will be funded by the World Bank. The power from these solar parks will be supplied to Indian Railways in eight states and Madhya Pradesh Solar Power Management Company.
