LONDON: * Scotland will launch its new leasing round for offshore wind projects this October, said Crown Estate Scotland, the body responsible for leasing Scotland’s seabed
* Under the scheme, Crown Estate Scotland provides a wind energy developer with the rights to construct and operate an offshore wind farm on the seabed
* The leasing round, known as ScotWind Leasing, aims to help Scotland reach a target of 50 percent of energy consumption coming from renewable sources by 2030
* Decisions on which applications are successful will be taken between May and July 2020, Crown Estate Scotland said
