Scottish delegates interested in investing in tidal energy in Bengal

Kolkata: After participating in the Bengal Global Business Summit, a delegation from the University of Edinburgh met the State Power Minister to discuss tidal energy projects in Bengal.
Present at the meeting too was a representative from Cardiff University.
Tidal energy or tidal power is a form of hydropower that converts the energy obtained from tides into useful forms of power, mainly electricity. Being a renewable form of energy, like solar and wind, the generation and use of tidal power are non-polluting activities.
