The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has launched a tender inviting bids for a 200 MW grid connected PV plant using domestically manufactured solar cells and modules. The plant – tendered under the so-called domestic content requirement (DCR) category – will be set up in the Neemuch-Mandsaur Solar Park in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

SECI’s announcement for this tender follows a recent spurt of DCR tenders announced by NTPC (see NTPC Invites Bids For 86 MW In Gujarat).

SECI is inviting bids on behalf of Coal India Limited (CIL). The EPC contract includes jobs for design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing, commissioning of the plant. The selected bidder also has to carry out operations and maintenance of the plant for a period of 10 years.

The Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) documents will be uploaded on CIL’s tender website on August 31, 2017. SECI has only announced this tender through local news so far. It appeared in business daily, The Economic Times (ET) on August 10, 2017.

CIL had signed two agreements with SECI to implement 200 MW of solar power capacity in Madhya Pradesh in June 2016 (see Solar Power For Coal India Limited). It will be divided into two projects of 100 MW each for two CIL subsidiaries. In all, CIL wants SECI to set up solar power projects of 1,000 MW capacity across the country in a phased manner.
