Seraphim to open 750-MW solar module factory in Vietnam
December 9 : China’s Jiangsu Seraphim Solar System Co Ltd plans to build a 750-MW solar module assembly factory in Vietnam, it said on Tuesday.
The new facility has fully automatic production lines and will be used for the production of Seraphim’s half-cell photovoltaic (PV) modules. Of the total manufacturing capacity, 500 MW will be used for the company’s S3 series half-cell modules, which have a power output of up to 450 W, while 250 MW will be for its S4 series half-cell modules.
Seraphim noted that the Series 4 modules use bifacial technology and have a 21.1% efficiency. Their maximum power output reaches 540 W.
“This factory is designed to enhance our competitiveness in the US market and increase Seraphim’s global market share by expanding overseas production capacity outside of China,” said executive vice president Jun Zhuge.
To date, over 8 GW of Seraphim’s products have been installed across more than 40 countries globally. In Vietnam, the company has supplied PV panels for the 30-MW BMT solar park in Dak Lak Province and the 50-MW KH solar farm in Khanh Hoa Province.
