SEUK | Clean Energy Live 2016: Delta to demonstrate a broad portfolio of clean energy solutions at this year’s show
At UK’s largest exhibition dedicated to the solar energy and renewable energy industry, Delta will present today’s most innovative and forward thinking solutions in Solar Power, Energy Storage Management, EV Charging Solutions and LED Lighting.
Delta visualizes a clean energy future where everyone can enjoy the benefits of renewable energy and energy savings. With the introduction of our innovative clean energy systems, Delta is providing solutions that help everyone meet their energy goals in a smart and eco-friendly way.
The innovative and energy-saving highlights will include:
World’s first 88kVA wall-mountable Solar Inverter
The M80H is the world’s first 88kVA wall-mountable string inverter and is the new flagship model of the Delta Solar Inverter line featuring an exceptional maximum efficiency of 98.8%. The greatly increased power density, offering maximum 88kVA output from a power module section similarly sized as the Delta 55kVA model, was achieved through the use of silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductors. The SiC components allow for the inverter to be used in 400 volt or 480 volt grids, which can minimize losses in AC and DC cabling.
The M80H is a two-stage, boosted solar inverter providing a large advantage in reaching maximum yields for solar systems that are partially shaded during the day. 2 MPP trackers and a high maximum input voltage up to 1100V allow for extra flexibility in system design and better performance in challenging conditions.
The inverter offers a safe DC/AC wire connection box and built-in DC switches and AC and DC surge protection devices (SPDs) to reduce installation costs due to additional external devices. Multiple communication interfaces are available such as RS-485 and optional Ethernet.
The high power and high efficiency string inverters are perfect for large commercial ground-mounted PV plants with megawatt-sized solar arrays where optimum yield is important to ensure a high return from the system.
100kW Battery Energy Storage System with PCS
Delta offers its customers completely customisable energy storage systems with PCS which has a wide voltage range and provide flexibility to choose from various battery types. The Delta PCS100K is a modular and scalable Power Conversion System (PCS) for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with 20 kW Bi-directional Converter Units (BCU) as a core component of the energy conversion.
The Delta PCS is the key component in a BESS which ensures that Energy Storage is commercially successful. It is the component which allows BESS to take advantage of the potential revenue streams available for Energy Storage systems to make a positive Revenue Stack an ultimately attractive ROI.
Through PCS100K, the lower cost electric power will be stored to a battery bank as energy reserve, and the energy reserve will be used during higher or peak rate periods for lower electrical power cost, or for other operational energy reserve purposes.
According to Rajbir Kambo, Sales Director for Delta’s Solution and Integration Technology Business Unit, “The market has reached to a point of need, though there is no proper policy in place by the UK government, however, the consciousness of consumers towards energy saving, poor grid networks and the technical possibilities to deliver such solutions has reached to the point of introduction today.”
UK has unique function of energy operation, namely in the regulated sector and private sector where System/Network operators, energy users and energy asset owners can benefit from storage based on various revenue stacks.
BESS is set to be the balancing factor in the UK Energy Mix for the future. Delta has the capacity and capability to deliver the solutions now.
Hybrid E5 Energy Storage
The residential energy storage system is composed of the RPI E5 hybrid solar inverter as well as an external battery cabinet equipped with an 6kWh Li-ion battery, a smart meter and smart energy management box. The Hybrid E5 energy storage system is designed to optimize power usage from your solar PV system. The intelligent Hybrid E5 with customized energy management modes can for example store solar energy to the battery during the day and discharge the energy as needed to loads in the evening, helping reduce overall spending on grid electricity.
Ultra Fast 150kW EV Quick Charger
The innovative 150kW DC Ultra Fast EV Charger is capable of charging up to 4 EVs simultaneously as it supports CCS-200A, CHAdeMO-125A, Type2-63A as well as Type2-32A standards, meaning it covers practically all EVs. With output power of up to 150kW DC and up to 65kW AC users will experience a remarkable improvement in charging times especially when, in coming years, new-generation EVs with larger battery capacity and longer driving ranges enter the market. Operators taking this EV trend into consideration for their investment in charging infrastructure will be able to provide more attractive charging services to their clients in coming years, a key success factor in their EV charging business.
LED Lighting Solutions
Delta’s LED Lighting Solutions will showcase today’s most innovative solutions for industrial applications and indoor commercial environments. Three key LED lighting product series will be presented, namely, Staccato, Altos Radiant, and Athor.
The market-leading high-bay LED luminaire Staccato boasts a leadership in the industry with its efficacy of up to 160lm/W and total output from 12,000 lm to up to 40,000lm. Smart monitoring and control are possible through the integration of 1-10V standard or wireless Zigbee interfaces. Staccato high-bay LED luminaires realize the harmony between reliably long life-time L70 >100,000 hours, IP66 and IK10 protection rating, high operating temperature and ease-of-installation.
Delta will also present Altos Radiant – a leading-edge addition to the waterproof family of linear luminaires. Altos Radiant is connectable LED fixture for continuous line applications in industrial places. The product meets industry standards and requirements such as IP66 and IK10 robust protection from dust, water and vandalism, high operating temperature and creditably long lifetime.
The versatility of Delta’s LED Lighting portfolio will be evident with the latest innovative series in office lighting – Athor. This unique product is built around an innovative LED module with integrated thermal management and optical system. The light from Athor seems to be emitted directly from the ceiling with significantly reduced glare UGR<19, which makes the product ideal for interior lighting.
