Banka: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said that solar energy would be generated in each district of the state with an objective to provide solar power to each household.
After inspecting solar power plant at Sonari village in the district, Mr Kumar said the scheme would be implemented in few districts of the state on an experimental basis even as each household would be provided solar power in these districts.
He said that his government was committed to encouraging use of solar energy in the state as electricity generation through it had been proved very effective.
Sonari solar power plant has also met the expectations of people, Mr Kumar added. Solar power plant at Senari village was set up at the cost of nearly Rs 250 crore generating 25 MWs of electricity every day, he informed
The chief minister said that thermal power plant needed huge capital investments even as it operation was also very costly.
