Hyderabad: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Wednesday said the State has a total 2,154 solar power projects with a total installed capacity of 3,744 MW. So far, about 1,668 solar power plants with an installed capacity of 3,282.67 MW have been synchronised with the grid.
Replying to a question in the Legislative Assembly, the Minister said as establishment of the solar power plants was under purview of the Central government, the State government cannot implement any reservations or incentives for SCs and STs in this regard. The entire process was handled under the supervision of the Central government.
Telangana has been in the forefront of solar power generation in the country and to maintain its leadership, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao directed the officials to decrease line losses by connecting these solar power plants with their nearest sub-stations.
“At present, about 3,046 MW power is being generated from 1,617 solar power plants commissioned to the grid. Of this, about 26.92 MW power is generated through rooftop solar panels installed at 1,428 locations,” he added.
