SOLAR POWER PLANT ESTABLISHED AT COACH REBUILDING FACTORY
A solar power plant of 500 kW was established on March 23, 2018 at West Central Railway Bhopal division passenger coach re-building factory.
The annual production would be 752000 Unit KW hour. The solar plant is established on 7832 square meter over the terrace of the factory. With installation of the solar plant, Rs 33 lakh would be saved annually.
The installation of solar plant is important in terms of environment conservation.
According to the international figures installation of solar plant of 500 kW is equivalent to planting of 21500 trees. Another comparison based on the figures was the emission of 17250 metric ton Carbon dioxide is done by a conventional power plant producing 500 kW in 25 years and in the same manner if solar power plant of 500 kW is installed heavy reduction of Carbon dioxide would be achieved and which is very beneficial for the environment.
In another achievement by West Central Railway, the goods fare has been collected 6.45 percent more than the target for the year 2017-18. A sterling performance was delivered by West Central Railway administration after it managed to achieve 41.52 metric ton of freight which was above the set target 39 metric ton of freight.
The freight transport recorded an increase of 13.9 percent as compared with the last year which was a healthy sign of the growth achieved by West Central Railway.
West Central Railway deals in freight transport mainly of cement, clinker, fertilizer, grains, iron ore, coal, container and petroleum products.
