Solar power plant inaugurated in CIHSR
A 100 KW grid solar power plant and 100 KW off grid solar power were commissioned and inaugurated at CIHSR hospital and Centre of Nursing (CON)- IP, CIHSR hospital, respectively for which a short programme was held Friday, at private ward block, CIHSR hospital, Dimapur.
The 200 KW off-grid solar power plants was sponsored by MNRE, government of India and implemented by DNRE, government of Nagaland.
At the programme, commissioning address was delivered by New Renewable Energy (NRE) director, Er. TS Angami mentioned about the importance of solar power plant and renewable energy. He also pointed out the threats of global warming felt across the global and the fast depleting fossil fuels sending red signal, new and renewable energy was the only solution to alleviate the looming crisis, he said.
The burning of coal and petroleum products contributes to climate change and global warming thus, he pointed that it is important to find new ways to minimize the effects.
He also pointed that power generation consumes maximum watt. And, further mentioned about the department upcoming programmes at the same time lamented about the fund that has been jeopardize. Further,
Angami hoped that the department will be able to overcome all short comings and be successful in implementing and commissioning more of such projects for the welfare of the people and society in general.
Delivering welcome address, CIHSR director, Dr. Sedevi Angami lauded the department for inaugurating and commissioning the 200KW power plant for the institute, pointing it as the largest power plant in Nagaland. He further looked forward for a fully solar power hospital in the days to come.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Er. Neiyazo Ndang and invocation prayer was pronounced by CIHSR, CON principal Dr. Christy Simpson.
Later, dedicatory prayer was pronounced by CIHSR chaplain Atsung which was followed by ribbon cutting and switching On of the power plants by Er TS Angami.
