The Emirates Red Crescent Authority (ERC) commissioned a project for solar-powered water supply systems in the district of Hadramout in Yemen on Friday.
A representative of the ERC said the project, built in the village of Al Aiq, entailed the procurement and installation of solar-powered water pumps to transport water from an existing well to a water tank that supplies fresh water to the residents.
District Director Ahmed Saeed Al Jamhi, thanked the ERC for their efforts in setting up water and electricity projects, saying this solar-powered water project would have a positive impact by saving costs of purchasing diesel and other fuels.
