KOZHIKODE: District panchayat president Babu Parassery said that solar powered streetlights will be installed on the 19 locations on the stretch of Thamarassery Ghat road. Addressing the district panchayat meeting, he said that solar powered signal lights will also be installed on the Ghat road stretch.

The district panchayat president said that the execution of the project will be carried through Kerala state Electronics Development Corporation Limited (Keltron).

The district panchayat will submit a request letter to the state government to take special permission for the installation of solar powered streetlights on the Ghat road. The district panchayat meeting also decided to seek government intervention to reinstate the check post of forest department on the Thamarassery Ghat road.
