These plants are added to the more than 2 GW of Soltec in the Andean country
Both projects will prevent the emission of 491,178 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere
The energy generated will be capable of supplying more than 77,000 homes
Soltec supplies its single axis SF7 tracker in two projects in Chile of 238 MW in total. This project, owned by the Chilean company AES Andes, will have a total of 5,227 solar trackers.
With these two projects, Soltec adds more than 2 GW of projects supplied and installed in the country. The Spanish company has a long history in the Latin American country since it opened its headquarters in Chile in 2014 and developed its first project in Latin America. During its almost eight years of experience, Soltec has supplied and installed several projects in areas with extreme locations such as the Atacama desert and has been a pioneer in the installation and adaptation of bifacial technology in solar tracking systems.
These projects will prevent the emission of 491,178 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. In addition, the construction of these two plants will generate electricity to supply 77,290 homes. The solar plants will have 4,367 piles and 439,068 modules in total.
Raúl Morales, CEO of Soltec, has been very satisfied with the achievement of these new projects: “Continuing to collaborate so that the energy transition becomes a reality in Chile not only makes us proud as a company, but it is our duty. These projects are added to a long list of solar plants in which Soltec has had a presence for years. Our consolidation in the Andean solar market is a reality and the fact that our clients continue to trust us is the best proof of the quality of our product and our service. With AES we are united by a long history of collaboration in projects in Chile as well as in Panama, Colombia and the United States, and we are proud to continue collaborating with companies like this one to achieve a cleaner world”.
