Sonnedix starts up 2.5-MW rooftop solar array in Japan
August 10 International independent power producer (IPP) Sonnedix Power Holdings Ltd said Tuesday that it has started operation of its 2.5-MW rooftop solar PV array for a corporate backer in Japan.
The system was built atop a logistics centre in western Japan and benefits from a 14.5-year power purchase agreement (PPA), which Sonnedix Japan secured in June 2020.
The contract is the first long-term corporate PPA for the Japanese unit, the IPP said. The rooftop plant will supply around 3,000 MWh of power each year under the PPA.
No other details were released.
The Sonnedix Japan unit currently manages 16 operating solar plants totalling 290 MW in the country, and has over 250 MW in construction and various stages of development, the press release states.
