Energy entrepreneur Trevor St Baker, an investor in coal power and clean energy, has called for the funds set aside in the federal budget for electric vehicle charging infrastructure to be distributed to all regional councils without delay.
The budget earmarked $74.5 million over four years to enable consumers and businesses to adopt “future fuel and vehicle technologies” in Australia, a move that EV advocates hope will advance the country’s adoption of electric cars, which is lagging well behind advanced economies overseas.
