Students of the Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar have developed a solar powered driverless bus using available resources in India. The bus is totally pollution free and uses only renewable energy in the form of solar power and electric motor.
Vehicle to vehicle communication has been used to make the bus driverless. It can be controlled within a radius of 10 metres. The bus travels at a maximum speed of 30 km per hour and can seat between 10 and 30 people, depending on the configuration inside.
