Sungrow Presents Plans to Increase Sri Lanka’s Renewable Energy Growth
Colombo, Sri Lanka: Sungrow, the global leading inverter supplier for renewables, today announced that it successfully held a PV technical seminar in Sri Lanka on Friday, 8th February 2019, as a part of the Company’s series of initiatives to aid the country’s progress towards more power generation and usage of renewable energy.
Attended by nearly a hundred participants, including government officials, industry experts, power plant owners, engineering procurement construction (EPC) contractors and other industry bodies, this tech seminar presented a comprehensive roadmap to raise discussions on upcoming PV technologies and solar product innovations for the development of Sri Lanka’s renewable energy market.
The technical seminar this year addressed some key factors that impact inverter quality and reliability, from project development, site construction, site valuation and O&M. It provided an ideal platform for attendees to assess the dynamics of the PV industry, while engaged in questioning of the present experts regarding inverter selection, technology, and performance.
As stated in the Sri Lanka Energy Sector Development Plan 2015-2025, the island country’s solar power has the potential to meet 32% of its annual power demand of around 10,500 GW, but so far less than 0.1% of that potential has been realized.
