Sunlight Financial Gets $50 Million From FTV to Make Solar Loans

Sunlight Financial LLC, which lends money to homeowners to install and upgrade solar systems and batteries, has raised $50 million in private equity from FTV Capital to expand its financing programs.
The New York-based Sunlight has secured more than $1 billion in capital for its loans since the company was founded in 2014, Chief Executive Officer Matt Potere said in an interview. FTV Managing Partner Brad Bernstein and Vice President Mike Vostrizansky joined Sunlight’s board as part of the transaction, according to an emailed statement from Sunlight on Wednesday.
