SunPower, Enphase work jointly on new Maxeon solar module
SunPower Corp (NASDAQ:SPWR) and Enphase Energy Inc (NASDAQ:ENPH) have formed a strategic partnership to produce a new solar module with a factory-integrated microinverter.
More specifically, the pair will make the Enphase Energized Maxeon AC Module with a seventh-generation Enphase IQ microinverter. The solar module will make use of Enphase’s software-defined architecture and semiconductor integration, and will work seamlessly with the full suite of Enphase IQ products.
SunPower’s planned spin-off in Singapore, Maxeon Solar Technologies, will commercialise this product to residential customers in key international markets, the announcement says. Maxeon Solar will do so through authorised installer networks and distributors, beginning in this year’s final quarter.
The partners claim that global installers relying on the new module will benefit from improved capital management, simplified logistics and operations, as well as faster and more cost-effective installation.
