Super-charge hubs to ease electric car ‘range anxiety’

High-powered vehicle charging hubs are to be installed on motorways and major roads as part of a €20 million fund announced today.
Richard Bruton, the environment minister, said it would reduce “range anxiety” and encourage drivers to switch to electric vehicles.
At least 51 hubs which can charge between two and eight vehicles simultaneously will be set up. The hubs, which are stronger than those currently available, charge up to 100km of electric driving range in six minutes. They will be in addition to the 1,100 public charge points already available across Ireland.
