Tata Power-DDL Join Hands with Zoomcar to run EV fleet
Tata Power-DDL has deployed other electric powered vehicles in its e-powered fleet, comprising of over 100 e-scooters, e- rickshaws.
New Delhi: Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power-DDL) has rolled out a pilot project with Zoomcar, a Bangalore-headquartered self-drive car rental company, to run operation & maintenance (O&M) fleet using Electric Vehicles (EVs) in a phased manner.
Under the project, initially 12 EVs of Zoomcar will serve for the O&M activities including installation of smart meters in North Delhi.
“We are continually exploring new avenues and through this initiative, we aim to support and complement the Government’s strategy and strive to reduce dependency on petrol or diesel vehicles and shift to electric vehicles,” Sanjay Banga, Chief Executive Officer, Tata Power DDL, said.
The power distributor has deployed other electric powered vehicles in its maintenance fleet which comprises over 100 e-scooters and e-rickshaws. It aims to scale up the number of e-cars to 250 going forward.
