Tata Power faces delay in project completion due to coronavirus, says CEO Praveer Sinha
As coronavirus continues to wreak havoc across the globe, what impact is the renewables business of Indian companies facing? Speaking about the impact of coronavirus, Praveer Sinha, MD & CEO of Tata Power, said that there could be a delay in project completion of 2-3 months.
“The renewable business is definitely getting impacted. Many of the projects, which were supposed to get completed in February-March, are getting delayed. But, a few of the projects had tied up the supplies and they had already reached them,” he said.
Sinha further added that India is dependent on solar modules from China and Taiwan. “India imports nearly 90 percent of its solar panels from China and is very dependent on China and Taiwan for sourcing solar panels,” he said.
