Here’s an easy step-by-step guide on how to book Tata Tiago EV in India

Tata recently announced its most affordable EV in its portfolio called Tiago EV. Aimed at first-time electric car buyers, the Indian automaker has ensured to pack in its latest technology at a budget offering making the electric car up for grabs by the masses. That being said, Tata is initially offering 10,000 units of Tiago EV at introductory prices, out of which 2,000 units are reserved for the existing Nexon EV and Tigor EV owners. Since the Tiago EV bookings are going to go live soon in this country, in this guide we’ll be providing you with every detail on how to book the Tiago EV, its booking amount, test drive, and other related information.

Tata Tiago EV booking date

Bookings for the upcoming Tata Tiago EV will kickstart from October 10th, 12PM (IST) onwards through the company’s official website. As the car is up for grabs at an introductory price for the first 10,000 customers, details pertaining to who will be eligible for the particular offer will be revealed by October 20th, per the Tata Motors dealer. You will get the confirmation via email or SMS on your registered email ID and mobile number respectively.

How to book Tiago EV online

The Tiago EV pre-booking will start online via the company’s website on October 10th. The detailed process hasn’t been shared yet, but you can register your interest by filling up a form. By doing so, you’ll be notified of the vehicle’s booking availability along with future updates related to Tiago EV through an email or SMS. Additionally, pre-bookers will also be required to visit the nearest Tata dealership to confirm their preferred choice of variant and colour options irrespective of whether the booking has been made online or offline.

The Tiago EV is likely to be available in the Tata Motors showroom near you by the end of October. That said, the EV comes in five colour options, namely Tropical Mist, Teal Blue, Pristine White, Midnight Plum, and Daytona Grey.

Buyers who prefer getting their formalities done offline can contact their local Tata dealership to book the Tiago EV on their behalf by depositing a booking amount. On a later date, pre-bookers can walk into the dealership to fulfil the rest of the formalities such as making payments and opting for the car colour and variant of their choice. Tata Tiago EV booking amount

The booking amount for Tata Tiago EV is set at Rs 21,000. This amount is fully refundable in case the booking is not confirmed or the buyers change their minds and decide not to go ahead with the purchase. As for offline bookings, the Tata dealerships may ask the pre-bookers to deposit a small amount of around Rs 11,000. Once the booking is confirmed, the rest of the amount can be paid later. Tata will convey the confirmation of the same through the registered email address or SMS.

Tata Tiago EV deliveries

Although the exact dates have not been revealed, Tata claims the deliveries of Tiago EV will commence from January 2023. Also, in case a buyer is eligible for the car, they’ll be required to complete the whole buying process within 30 days of billing. The process could include vehicle registration, filling documents, paying pending dues etc. On the contrary, if the buyer fails to fulfil all the formalities within 30 days the introductory pricing offer will be given to another eligible customer and the booking will be cancelled automatically as well.

Tata Tiago EV price in India

Tata Tiago EV starts at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 8.49 lakh for the base ‘XE MR’ and can go up as high as Rs 11.79 lakh for the top-end ‘XZ+ Tech Lux LR’ variant that comes with a 7.2 kW wall box charger. That said, the pricing for the rest of the models of Tiago EV is as follows.

Tata Tiago EV specifications

As the name suggests, Tata Tiago EV is an electrified version of the ICE-based Tiago from 2016. Tata is positioning the EV as a value-for-money hatchback making it one of the most affordable electric cars in the automaker’s portfolio. Powered by Tata’s signature Ziptron technology, Tiago EV’s base variant comes with a 19.4kWh battery pack which is able to provide a range of 250km on a single full charge as per the estimated MIDC test cycle range. Both the electric motor and battery come with a warranty period of 8 years and are IP68 certified. According to Tata, the Tiago EV can reach speeds of 60kmph in just 5.7 seconds from a standstill position. As for charging the battery, the Indian automaker provides a 3.3kW AC home charger for the base variant and a 7.2kWh AC home charger for the higher variants. The battery gets juiced up in just 3 hours 36 minutes with the 3.3kW charger while the 7.2kWh charger takes the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 57 mins.
