Telangana surpasses Gujarat in solar energy production

Karimnagar: A two-day national conference on ‘Renewable Energy Development with Solar PV Panel’ began at the Jyothismathi Engineering College here on Friday.
The Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Department is conducting the seminar, which was inaugurated by K Madhava Rao, Superintendent Engineer (Operations), NPDCL, Karimnagar.
Rao said that the Telangana government has surpassed Gujarat, which, so far, was at the number one position in production of solar energy in the country. In order to overcome shortage of power and meet the demand, the State government was encouraging solar power generation.
He appreciated the college management for organising a conference on the subject. The SE said that the students pursuing EEE course have a bright future in the power sector, wherein they would get plenty of opportunities in the future. He advised the students to achieve their goals through hard work.
College chairman Juvvadi Sagar Rao and director K Venkat Rao asked the students to acquire knowledge through such conferences.
Principal Dr M Srinivas, Vice-Principal Prof Bugga Rao, Head of Department, EEE, T Praveen Kumar, programme coordinator Dr Manikantan Mani, training and placement officer Vishwaprakash also participated in the conference.
