In Short : Terabase Energy, a solar and digital solutions provider, has raised $130 million from SoftBank Vision Fund 2. The investment underscores growing confidence in renewable energy as global demand for sustainable power rises. The funds will support Terabase’s expansion and innovation in solar technology, reinforcing its role in advancing clean energy solutions and digital integration in the renewable energy sector.

In Detail : Terabase Energy has announced the closure of a $130m Series C financing round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2.

The funding will help accelerate the deployment of Terabase’s digital and automation solutions for utility-scale solar power, transforming the renewable energy landscape. The total funding for Terabase now exceeds $200m.

Terabase’s platform integrates robotics, AI and a comprehensive digital ecosystem to reduce costs and construction timelines for solar power plants.

The Series C funding will enable Terabase to rapidly deploy its proven technologies at scale, transforming the construction and operation of utility-scale solar projects.

It will primarily support the scale-up of Terabase’s robotics-assisted assembly line, Terafab. This system is designed to double installation productivity while improving build quality and workplace safety by eliminating the manual lifting of heavy components.

Terabase CEO Matt Campbell stated: “SoftBank Vision Fund’s investment reflects our shared commitment to leveraging advanced technology to drive the future of renewable energy. This funding validates our mission and provides the resources to scale our platform, paving the way for the terawatt era of solar.”

Terafab has already demonstrated its effectiveness by installing 40 MW across multiple US projects and is set to deploy hundreds of megawatts of solar through to 2026.

SoftBank Global Advisers managing partner Kentaro Matsui stated: “The surge in energy demand, particularly from AI data centres, underscores the urgency of scaleable, sustainable solutions.

“Terabase’s innovative approach to digitalising and automating solar power plant deployment positions it as a leader in this transition. We’re pleased to support this vision as Terabase redefines how the world builds renewable energy infrastructure.”

Terabase’s solutions also include the Terafab automated construction system, PlantPredict solar modelling software, and the Construct construction management platform, which has supported more than 12GW of projects to date.
