TMEIC SOLAR WARE STATION Utility-Scale PV Inverters provide 580MW of Renewable Energy in Vietnam
TMEIC Solar Ware Inverters support Vietnam’s FIT Phase 2
In December 2020, Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation (hereinafter, “TMEIC”; President & CEO Masahiko Yamawaki) completed the installation of its SOLAR WARE STATION for newly developed utility-scale solar PV plants in Vietnam. The SOLAR WARE STATION delivered is a packaged solution offering a PV inverter, boosting transformer, and switchgear with a total capacity of 580MW.
PV plant capacity reached 16.4GWp/13.2GWac*1 in Vietnam and is growing rapidly following China, the United States, and India. The Vietnamese government has set a target for a cumulative capacity of 20GW by 2030 and introduced Feed In Tarif Phase-2 (FIT Phase 2) for newly developed PV plants commencing operation by December 31, 2020.
After the announcement of FIT Phase 2, TMEIC supplied its SOLAR WARE STATION to six projects, including one in An Giang Province, two in Khanh Hoa Province, and three in Binh Phuoc Province. All projects were commissioned by December 2020.
The SOLAR WARE STATION is an AC solution offering a PV inverter (1500Vdc, 2550kW), boosting transformer, and switchgear packaged in a 40-foot container. The Solar Ware Station’s outstanding workability and environmental durability contribute to Vietnam’s FIT Phase-2 goal. TMEIC has delivered a cumulative total of 2GW in the Vietnamese market as of the end of 2020.
