TN consistently outrank other Indian cities in electricity market reforms, reveal research by London-based IEEFA
Chennai: A new research by the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) has revealed that Tamil Nadu has consistently outranked other Indian states in electricity market reforms.
TANGEDCO was already performing better compared to its peers from other states and Tamil Nadu has been picked by IEEFA as one of the nice electricity markets that were leading transition to wind and solar power globally.
Tamil Nadu also has the highest installed capacity in renewable energy and it leads in wind energy installations not just in India, but globally.
India’s national grid along with the green power corridor and international grid connections could very well help encouraging more wind and solar power uptake.
The research by IEEFA, report of which was released globally on Tuesday, detailed how nine major power markets around the world have achieved an outsize share of wind and solar generation, while assuring security of supply, and were providing compelling examples of the fast-moving evolution of electricity generation.
